Zappos.com Las Vegas Marathon & Half Marathon,
Las Vegas, NV 11/02/07
 On
a very cool dark Sunday morning at 6 AM several
RidgeRunners took off down the Las Vegas strip.
The organizers started us off to the song "Viva
Las Vegas" and some fireworks. For the first
four miles we were running down the strip
between many of the largest hotel casinos. At
the 5 ½ mile mark there was a short chute for
those that wanted to get married or renew their
vows. There were quite a few Elvis sightings
during the race. Both the marathon and half
marathon runners started and ran together for
the first six miles. At that point the
marathoners took off for some interesting
neighborhoods. There were spectators along most
of the route. There was even a brick wall set
up at mile 20. None of the RidgeRunners "hit
the wall" though. The results were as follows
JC 3:50, Kristen Johnson (1st
marathon) 6:18, Shane Johnson (1st
marathon) 6:42 and Pat Johnson (29th
marathon and 20th state) 6:42. Mike
Johnson finished the half marathon in 3:23.

had a beautiful beach weekend and oh yah... ran the
marathon and half-marathon. Last year they ran
the "inaugural" race and it rained with high winds
the whole race. This year it was sunny with a
high of 53 with 18 mph gusts. Not bad considering
its a November marathon on an island! There
was even a Kelly Byrd sighting as she & her husband
Sean provided them with a pasta dinner the evening
before the race. Results: Marathon... Joe Malinowski
5:23:56, George McVeigh 6:04:36.
Half-Marathon... Kathy Malinowski, Jean McVeigh &
Ray McQuade 3:32:22.

Stewart Wallace was born on Saturday, November 10,
2007 at 0742. He weighed in at 8lbs 6oz, 20.5
inches long and with a head of black hair.

 The
nicest day of the Fall season was the stage of the
32nd running of the Marine Corps Marathon. We
basically ran with about 30,000+ of our closest
running friends from literally around the world.
